Digital Driving License in Saudi Arabia — Access via Absher and Tawakkalna

The Saudi Traffic Police have confirmed that the digital driving license can be accessed through both the Absher Individuals app and the Tawakkalna app — and it is accepted as a valid substitute for the physical card.

What is the digital driving license?

The digital driving license is an electronic version of your Saudi driving license that you can:

• Store on your smartphone — no need to carry the plastic card
• Show at traffic stops — accepted by traffic police as valid ID
• Use at checkpoints — valid for vehicle inspections
• Access without internet — includes a QR code that works offline

How to access it

Via Absher Individuals app

1. Open the Absher app on your phone
2. Go to “My Services” → “Driving License”
3. Select “View Digital License”
4. Your license details will appear with a QR code
5. Screenshot it or keep the app open for quick access

Via Tawakkalna app

1. Open the Tawakkalna app (تَوَكَّلْنَا)
2. Navigate to “Documents” or “Digital ID” section
3. Your driving license should appear automatically (linked to your Absher account)
4. Keep it accessible for traffic stops

Is it legally valid?

Yes. The Traffic Police have officially confirmed that the digital license is a valid substitute for the physical card. You do not need to carry the plastic license if you have the digital version on your phone.

However, it is still recommended to carry the physical card as backup — some older systems or border crossings may not accept digital-only.
