The Resident Stay Duration Report on Absher proves exactly how long you've legally stayed in Saudi Arabia. Indian expats need it for iqama renewals, bank KYC, embassy paperwork, and sending money home. Here's how to get it in minutes.

There’s a small Absher service most Indian expats in Saudi Arabia have never heard of — and then suddenly desperately need it at the worst possible moment: the Resident Stay Duration Report (Arabic: تقرير مدة الإقامة للمقيم).

Saudi Passports (Jawazat) confirmed it’s available fully online through Absher — issue and print it in a few steps, no kiosk, no appointment, no sponsor permission needed.

If you’ve ever been asked “how long have you actually been in the Kingdom?” and fumbled for an answer, this report is your proof. It lays out your complete entry/exit history and exactly how many days you’ve spent inside and outside Saudi Arabia.

Why you (an Indian expat) actually need this

This isn’t a “nice to have” document. Here’s where it saves you:

  • Iqama renewal & sponsor matters — When your kafeel or the chamber questions your stay history, or HR needs proof of continuous residency, this is the official printout.
  • Bank KYC & account reviews — Saudi banks periodically re-run KYC. If they ask how long you’ve been resident, a Jawazat-issued report beats your memory every time.
  • Embassy paperwork — The Indian Embassy and consulates sometimes need proof of residency for attestation, emergency certificates, or consular services. A stamped Absher report is recognized.
  • Sending money home — When you open or verify an international transfer account (or a service like Wise asks for proof you’re a resident earning in Saudi), this report is clean evidence of your status. (We’ll note affiliate options separately — see below.)
  • Exit/re-entry & final exit planning — It shows exactly how many days you’ve been outside the Kingdom, which matters if you’re tracking visa windows or planning a long trip to India.

The point: it’s the one document that says “I’ve been here legally, for this long” — straight from Jawazat. Get it now and keep a PDF saved on your phone before you need it.

What the report actually shows

Once generated, the report lists:

  • Your total days spent inside Saudi Arabia
  • Your total days spent outside the Kingdom
  • Your entry and exit history (with dates)
  • Your iqama number and personal details

It’s generated in Arabic, but the dates and numbers are universal — and it carries the official Jawazat branding, which is what makes it acceptable to banks, embassies, and employers.

How to get it — step by step (Absher website)

You don’t need to visit a Jawazat office. Do this from your laptop or phone:

  1. Log in to Absher at absher.sa using your Absher Individual account (the same login you use for iqama status, traffic fines, etc.).
  2. After login, go to My Services (خدماتي).
  3. Under the resident services, look for Resident Stay Duration Report — in Arabic it’s labeled تقرير مدة الإقامة للمقيم. It usually sits under the general/resident reports section. (Menus get reorganized occasionally — if you don’t see it on the first screen, use the search box inside Absher and type “مدة الإقامة”.)
  4. Click it, confirm your details, and the system generates the report.
  5. Print or save as PDF. Keep a copy on your phone and in your email.

How to get it on the Absher app

The flow is the same on the Absher mobile app (Android/iOS):

  1. Open the Absher app and log in.
  2. Tap My Services (خدماتي).
  3. Find Resident Stay Duration Report (تقرير مدة الإقامة للمقيم).
  4. Generate it and use the share/save option to export the PDF.

That’s it. From login to PDF is usually under five minutes if your Absher is already active.

”But my Absher isn’t activated yet”

If you can’t log in because Absher was never activated on your iqama, fix that first — it takes one bank transaction or a self-service kiosk. We’ve written the full walkthrough here: How to Activate Absher Online using your Bank Account and How to Register on Absher. Once activated, come back to this guide and pull the report in minutes.

One honest caveat

The report reflects what’s recorded in the Jawazat system. If a border crossing wasn’t logged correctly (rare, but it happens on land borders or during system maintenance), the days may look off. If something’s clearly wrong, take the report to a Jawazat office — but for 99% of expats, it matches reality perfectly and is exactly what the bank or embassy wants to see.
