Saudi Driving License Document Requirements
The following Documents are required for Saudi Driving License
- Original ID card/ Iqama.
- Medical Test for Driving License in Saudi Arabia. These examinations are conducted out of any governmental or private medical center associated with traffic. This test consists of blood tests, an eye exam, and a general check-up.
- Pay driving license fees using Bank Account.
- Six official photos (size 4×6 cm).
- Duly filled Saudi Driving License Application form to apply for Driving License. You can fill it in Arabic by yourself or get it filled by an agent
Procedure to Apply for Saudi Driving Licence
Register for driving lessons by selecting one of the available driving schools to begin the driving licence application. Attend and pass all of the tests, including the practical and theoretical stages monitored by the General Traffic Department (Muroor).
1- Saudi Driving Licence Apply Online Appointment to Muroor
The first step in getting Saudi Driving License is booking online appointment at the driving school via Absher electronic platform. This article describes the detailed procedure to book an online appointment for Driving License.
2- Saudi Driving Licence First Driving Test
- Once your appointment is booked, Visit the Dallah Driving School and produce all the documents at the counter
- Take the First Driving Test. If you pass, you will be categorized under Category A and after 6 Hours of Training, You will be offered to take final driving test (reverse parking and computer test).
- If you fail the first Driving Test, You need to take the driving classes for more Hours. And upon successful completion of the training, Final Driving test appointment will be Scheduled (which is a reverse parking and computer test).
3- Saudi Driving License Practical Driving Class & Theoretical Training
Practical Driving Class & Theoritical training will be carried out if the applicant doesn’t clear the first driving test at the Driving School. You will be assessed for the number of training hours required and the training will be performed.
The training course will include practical driving classes as well as indoor presentations related to traffic signs (Download Here) and this will last for a couple of weeks depending upon the crowd at the Driving School and the appointment schedule provided to you.
Depending upon the level of your driving, you will be categorized into one of the 3 categories
- 6 Hour Driving Class if you pass the First Driving Test (SAR 690)
- 12 Hour Driving Class if you fail the test, but can drive at an intermediate level (SAR 1466)
- 30 Hour Driving Class if you are unable to drive (SAR 2760)
💡 The issuance of a driving license should be your top priority once you get to Saudi Arabia because it is very challenging to adhere to a schedule of driving classes after you have a job.
4- Saudi Driving License Final Driving Test
- After Completing training hours, you will given an appointment for final driving test
- Take a moment adjusting your seat, side mirrors, back mirror, steering, and seatbelt.
- This test may include Driving on a track, parallel and reverse parking.
Upon successful testing, you will proceed to the Computer Testing. Your training hours will increase if you don’t pass the final test.
5- Saudi Driving Licence Computer Test
- A computer test must be passed after clearing the practical driving session.
- You have 30 minutes to complete this computer-based test, which consists of 20 questions. You can make a maximum of two mistakes on the test, and if you don’t know the answer to a question, you can skip it and a new question will appear.
- To ensure that you are adequately prepared for the theoretical test, the Saudi Driving School provides each candidate 8 theoretical classes, lasting up to an hour each.
6- Saudi Driving License (DL) Collection
Your driving license will be issued once you have passed both your driving test and computer test. It requires that you submit your file, which shall include a duly filled Saudi Driving License Application form, Medical Test Report for Driving License and the Driving Test Passing Paper at a counter.
7- Saudi Driving License Status and Validity Check Online using Absher
After Successfully Obtaining the Saudi driving license, You can check the Status and validity of your License via your Absher/Tawakkalna/Absher Individual Account.

1. What is the Minimum age for Saudi Driving License Eligibility
- The Minimum legal age for obtaining Saudi driving license for private Vehicles and motorbikes is 18 years.
- Temporary license or Driving Permit can be obtained at 17 Years for a period not exceeding one year to drive private vehicles.
- For driving public works vehicles, the minimum age for driving license is 20 Years.
2. SAR 900 Fine for Driving without License
Driving without a valid Driving License falls under Category 1 of Traffic violations. If you are caught driving without a driving license, a fine of SAR 500 to SAR 900 maybe imposed and sometimes the vehicle will also be taken into custody.
3. How to Convert Indian Driving License to Saudi Driving License
If You already have a valid driver’s license from India, you cannot directly convert it to Saudi driving license. You still need to take the Initial driving test and If you pass the test, you should take the minimum required training hours (6) to proceed for the final driving & parking test, along with the computer test. Upon passing these tests, you will be offered Saudi Driving License.
If You do not already have a driving license for India, or if you didn’t pass the initial test for a driving license then you will be offered to take driving classes for a couple of weeks. Final Driving test will be followed upon completion of these driving Classes.
4. Can I drive in UAE, Bahrain, Qatar with Saudi Driving License?
If you have a valid driving license from Saudi Arabia, you can drive a car in UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar and Austria without needing an International License
5. How long does it take to get Saudi Driving License
