Planning to work or reside in any GCC country? Booking your Wafid appointment for medical test is a mandatory first step in your visa process. Since the official rebranding from GAMCA to Wafid in January 2023, the entire appointment system has been streamlined and digitized through the official Wafid portal.

This comprehensive guide will walk you through the complete process of booking your Wafid medical appointment online, including updated fees, required documents, and important tips to ensure a smooth experience.

📌 What is Wafid Medical Appointment?

Wafid (formerly GAMCA) is the official medical examination system operated by the Gulf Health Council for all expatriates seeking work or residency visas in GCC countries including:

  • 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia (KSA)
  • 🇦🇪 United Arab Emirates (UAE)
  • 🇶🇦 Qatar
  • 🇰🇼 Kuwait
  • 🇴🇲 Oman
  • 🇧🇭 Bahrain

⚠️ Important: Wafid medical appointments can ONLY be booked online through the official Wafid portal. No walk-in appointments are accepted at medical centers, and third-party agents cannot book on your behalf.

💰 Wafid Appointment Fees

Understanding the fee structure is important for proper budgeting:

Online Registration Fee (Paid During Booking)

  • Base Fee: USD $10
  • Total Cost: Approximately ₹1,160-1,500 INR (includes gateway charges, taxes, and service fees)
  • Payment Method: Credit/Debit card only (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • What It Covers: Booking confirmation, medical center assignment, and appointment slip generation

Medical Center Fees (Paid in Cash at Center)

These fees are separate and paid directly at the medical center on your appointment day:

CountryApproximate Cost
India₹7,500 – ₹8,500 INR
PakistanPKR 24,000 – PKR 30,000
BangladeshBDT 8,500 – BDT 9,500
PhilippinesPHP 4,500 – PHP 5,500
Sri LankaLKR 18,000 – LKR 22,000

💡 Note: Medical center fees vary by city and destination GCC country. Always confirm the exact amount with your assigned center.

📋 Step-by-Step: How To Book Your Wafid Medical Appointment

Follow these simple steps to book your appointment online:

Step 1: Visit the Official Wafid Booking Portal

Go to the official Wafid appointment booking page:

⚠️ Warning: Avoid third-party booking websites or agents. Only use the official Wafid portal to prevent fraud and ensure your appointment is legitimate.

Step 2: Select Your Destination GCC Country

On the booking page, you’ll see a dropdown menu to select your destination country:

  • Choose the GCC country where you’ll be working or residing (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, or Bahrain)
  • This determines which medical standards and tests will be applied
  • Make sure you select the correct country as this cannot be changed later without rebooking

Step 3: Select Your City and Medical Center Assignment

Next, select the city where you want to take your medical test:

  • Choose Your City: Select from the dropdown list of cities in your country
  • Automatic Assignment: The Wafid system will automatically assign you to an approved medical center in that city
  • No Choice of Center: You cannot select a specific medical center or doctor—the assignment is automatic based on availability

💡 Tip: Choose a city that’s convenient for you to travel to, as you’ll need to visit the assigned center in person on any working day during their operating hours.

Step 4: Enter Candidate Information

Fill in your personal details exactly as they appear in your passport:

  • Full Name: Enter your complete name (First Name, Middle Name, Last Name) exactly as in passport
  • Date of Birth: Use DD/MM/YYYY format
  • Gender: Select Male or Female
  • Nationality: Select your country of citizenship
  • Marital Status: Select your current status

⚠️ Critical: Double-check all information for accuracy. Any mismatch between your booking details and passport can cause delays or rejection at the medical center.

Step 5: Enter Passport Details

Provide your passport information:

  • Passport Number: Enter your passport number exactly as shown
  • Passport Issue Date: Date when your passport was issued
  • Passport Expiry Date: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your medical test date
  • Place of Issue: City/country where passport was issued

Step 6: Select Visa Type

Choose the type of visa you’re applying for:

  • Work Visa: For employment purposes (most common)
  • Family Visa: For family residency or dependent visa
  • Other: For students or other specific categories

This selection determines the type of medical examination and health standards that will be applied.

Step 7: Enter Contact Details

Provide your contact information for appointment confirmation:

  • Email Address: Use an active email address that you check regularly
  • Mobile Number: Include country code (e.g., +91 for India)
  • Position Applied For: Your job title or occupation category
  • Employer Name: Name of your sponsoring company (if applicable)

Your appointment confirmation and medical slip will be sent to this email address, so ensure it’s correct.

Step 8: Review and Submit the Form

Before submitting:

  • Review All Details: Carefully check every field for accuracy
  • Verify Passport Information: Ensure passport number and dates are correct
  • Check Contact Details: Confirm email and phone number are accurate
  • Accept Terms: Read and accept the terms and conditions
  • Click “Save & Continue” or “Proceed to Payment”

Step 9: Complete Online Payment

You’ll be redirected to the secure payment gateway:

  • Payment Amount: USD $10 (approximately ₹1,160-1,500 INR including all charges)
  • Accepted Methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express (credit/debit cards only)
  • Currency: Payment is processed in USD
  • Security: All transactions are encrypted and secure

After successful payment, you’ll receive an immediate confirmation on screen.

Step 10: Download Your Wafid Medical Slip

After payment confirmation:

  • Immediate Download: Your medical appointment slip will be available for immediate download
  • Email Copy: A copy will also be sent to your registered email address within 5-10 minutes
  • SMS Confirmation: You may receive an SMS with your reference number

Your Wafid slip includes:

  • Your full name and passport details
  • Unique reference/slip number (e-number)
  • Assigned medical center name and address
  • Destination GCC country
  • Validity period (30 days from booking date)
  • Instructions for your medical test

⚠️ Important: Print your Wafid medical slip and keep it safe. You MUST present this slip at the medical center. The slip is valid for 30 days from the booking date—you must complete your medical within this period.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Can I book a Wafid appointment without a visa?

A: Yes, you can book your Wafid appointment before receiving your visa. However, for Saudi Arabia, you may need certain visa details (MOFA number) during the actual medical test—confirm with your employer.

Q: Can I choose my preferred medical center?

A: No. The Wafid system automatically assigns a medical center based on your selected city and availability. You cannot choose a specific center or doctor.

Q: What if I miss my 30-day appointment window?

A: If your appointment slip expires after 30 days, you’ll need to book a new appointment and pay the registration fee again. However, you can potentially change cities after expiry.

Q: Can I reschedule my Wafid appointment?

A: You cannot reschedule your appointment directly. If you need to change your appointment, you may need to cancel and rebook (which requires paying the fee again) or simply visit within the 30-day validity window.

Q: How long does the medical test take at the center?

A: The entire process typically takes 2-4 hours depending on the crowd, including registration, tests, and document collection. Arriving early in the morning significantly reduces wait time.

Q: Is the $10 registration fee refundable?

A: No. The USD $10 registration fee is non-refundable once payment is completed, even if you don’t attend the medical test.

Q: Can someone else take the medical test on my behalf?

A: Absolutely not. The person whose passport details are registered must personally appear for the medical test. Identity fraud will result in permanent blacklisting.
