If you’re an Indian living in Saudi Arabia and need to submit documents like your degree certificate, birth certificate, marriage certificate, or police clearance for a work visa, family visa, university admission, or business setup — you’ll need to get them apostilled. This guide explains Indian Documents Apostille Procedure in a simple and clear way.

🧾 What Is Apostille?

An apostille is a stamp issued by the Indian government to certify your document for use in countries under the Hague Convention, including Saudi Arabia. It confirms the signature, seal, or stamp on your document is genuine.

This guide is specifically for people who need to authenticate their Indian-issued documents (like police clearance certificates, Indian Birth & Marriage Certificates, Degree and mark sheets) for use in Saudi Arabia.

If you need to authenticate Saudi Issued documents for use in India, that follows a different procedure – Check Out Saudi Apostille Procedure here

📌 Do You Need Apostille or Embassy Attestation?

  • Apostille is enough for most purposes in Saudi Arabia.

  • Embassy attestation is required only if Saudi authorities specifically ask for it (e.g., for some professional licenses or MOFA procedures).

🔁 It is best to get Apostille first and then embassy attestation only if needed.
